LUAUS
I would recommend the Outrigger Resort luau in Wailea. Beautiful setting on the lawn overlooking the ocean. Time is 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The luaus are on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday every week.
The full luau with imu cooked kalua pig and a fantastic buffet of Hawaiian food choices with salads and selection of Hawaiian specialties is $70.83 for adults and $30.21 for children (Ages 6-12) Rates include tax and gratuity. Open bar and dessert buffet and, of course, the polynesian show!
You may also have the option of a special rate which includes the dessert buffet, open bar and Polynesian revue. Seating is from 6:45 PM with show time at 7:00 PM.
The rate is $33.33 for adults and $10.42 for children (Ages 6 - 12)

SNORKEL TRIPS (WHALE WATCHES DEC - MAY)
The activities seem to be filling up much faster these days. There are many snorkel cruises. The least expensive are the afternoon excursions; however, it is rougher water than in the morning.
For a complete trip with breakfast and BBQ lunch on the boat including Mahi Mahi, boneless chicken breast, hamburgers and taroburgers and complementary beer, wine and sodas; videos of you snorkeling with the fish, snuba, all gear, a slide,glass bottom viewing, two spacious decks, free optical masks and sea boards etc.etc. I advise the Four Winds out of Maalaea Bay about 20 minutes from Kihei. Great fun and helpful staff!

You may also take a morning or afternoon snorkel with Pacific Whale Foundation on one of their four boats. Rates range from $19.95 + tax. Kids 3 and under are free on all cruises. Kids 4-12 free with each paying adult on Ocean Odyssey and Ocean Spirit. Additional kids (4-12) half price.
My favorite boat excursion with Pacific Whale Foundation is the Lana'i Wild Dolphin cruise. If you are as fortunate as I was, you will see hundreds of dolphins including Bottle Nose and Spinner Dolphins.
For summer 2002, Pacific Whale Foundation is offering a wonderful full day from 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM on the Ocean Odyssey, a brand new ultimate high-tech eco-friendly 65-foot double deck power catamaran for those who want to "do it all" in one day. This is the only tour that includes snorkeling at Molokini AND Lana'i, plus the wild dolphin encounter. Includes BBQ lunch.
